Former Austin Mayor Ron Mullen, who is already chair of the AHCA's Strategic Planning Committee, has just deepened his commitment to preserving Austin's history. Mullen is AHCA's newest Life Member.
Mullen himself is part of the history of Austin. He served as Austin mayor from 1983 to 1985 and served as a member of the Austin City Council from 1977 to 1983. In 2020, Mullen signed on as chair of the AHCA Strategic Planning Committee, which is gauging interest in a community capital campaign tied to expansion of the Austin History Center.
Mullen's $5000 Life Membership payment will be placed in the 1983 AHCA Endowment, managed by the Austin Community Foundation. The funds will be maintained in perpetuity, providing interest income to the annual operation of AHCA, as needed.
